Who is Career Coaching for?

Career Coaching is for everyone. Whether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are a seasoned professional, a coach can help you get the best out of your career. Working with a career coach can help you understand your strengths, uncover new career opportunities through career exploration, or help with getting your professional brand cohesive through a linkedin refresh – and everything in between

You’re based in Brisbane Australia, can I still access your services?

Career Coaching can be delivered online through video conferencing or over the telephone. Career Voice has worked with clients all over the world and geography is no longer a limitation when accessing career coaching services.
In fact even clients in Brisbane have found that video confering is so easy and convenient they prefer it to face to face contact.

I am busy during the day, can I access your services in the evening?

Normal consultation hours are between 9 am to 5 pm however evening consultations can be arranged with extended prior notice. We understand flexibility is key to everyone.

What will I need to provide prior to starting to work with a career coach?

We will ask for you to send through your resume as this gives a great ‘snapshot’ of where you are at in your career and your experiences – if you do not have one no problem at all! If working on career exploration, we will also ask you to complete a free online assessment used to start our career conversations

How long is a session

Sessions are 50 minutes to 1 hour but longer sessions can be arranged if required.

How do I book in?

You can email, call or use the contact page on our website. We will then be in touch to arrange a suitable day and time.

How do I pay?

Once your first session has been arranged, you will be sent an invoice for payment. Payment needs to be made prior to the first session

Can I change the time of my appointment?

We do ask for 24 hours notice for changing any appointments. Just email or call and we can re-schedule

What industry do you specialise in?

We have experience working across a range of industries and roles and at all levels. This includes both government and private sectors. At career voice we do not specialise in one particular industry, we specialise in careers.

Can I send you my resume to be re-written?

We would welcome you to book in for a session, where we will work together on your resume. This will give you the skills you need to be able to write your own resume confidently. By working in this way, your resume is personal and reflects you.

Can you help me get a job?

We will definitely work on all the skills to get you job ready and have a proactive job search plan. However, we are not a recruitment agency.

How often would we meet?

This really depends on what you are looking for. One session may be enough if we are covering a small area of career coaching. If you have booked in more than one session, I generally recommend these are 2 weeks apart as it gives you time to reflect and complete any ‘homework’ out of the sessions.

What approach do you use to coaching?

With career coaching, we use a person centric holistic approach using elements of Cognitive behaviour therapy and Systems Theory. We are solutions focused, so very realistic in our approach and strength based – working to each clients individual strengths. By ensuring practice is grounded in theory, this will assist in the success of the career counselling session and professionalism.
